Chaskiwasi Privacy Policy

Chaskiwasi (“we”, “us”) is operated by Chaskiwasi LLC, a Texas limited liability company. This policy explains what we collect when you use the Chaskiwasi app at chaskiwasi.app and the website at chaskiwasi.com, what we do with it, and the choices you have. Chaskiwasi is currently offered to people in the United States only.
What we collect
Account information. Your name, email address and password (stored in hashed form by our hosting platform, never in readable form).
Profile information you choose to give. Date of birth and gender, used to work out your age group for comparisons such as your Chaskiwasi Race Score.
Race and training information you enter. Races, results, splits, placements, race-day plans, logistics checklists, journal entries and improvement actions. Your journal is personal; we treat it that way.
Plan and usage information. Whether you are on the free trial, subscribed or view-only, when your paid period ends, how many race results you have saved on the trial, and a log of Insight requests (date, race, and size of the request, not its content) that we use to apply the limits described in our Terms.
Waitlist information. If you joined the waitlist on chaskiwasi.com, we hold the email address you gave.
Support messages. If you send us a question through the Help button in the app, we store your message, the page you were on, your account email address and the date, and we email the message to chaski@chaskiwasi.com so we can reply. We keep support messages only as long as needed to answer you and to improve the app.
Technical information. Basic device and browser information, and cookies needed to keep you signed in. Our website at chaskiwasi.com uses the basic website analytics built into our website host, Framer, to count visits. The app itself does not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts and a charting library from jsDelivr, so those providers can see your IP address when a page loads.
We do not collect your location, contacts or payment card numbers. When paid plans start, payments will be handled by Stripe, and your card details go to Stripe, not to us.
Do Not Track. Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. We do not currently respond to it, because we do not use advertising trackers or track you across other websites.
How we use it
We use your information to run the app (show your races, calculate your Chaskiwasi Race Score, generate Chaskiwasi Insights), to keep your account secure, to give you support, to improve the product, and to contact you about your account or, if you joined the waitlist, about the launch. We do not sell your information and we do not show ads.
Chaskiwasi Insights and AI processing
Chaskiwasi Insights are written by an AI model provided by Anthropic. To produce an Insight for a race, we send that race’s record and up to 15 of your most recent other races of the same type to Anthropic’s service. We send what is needed for the Insight, not your journal. Anthropic’s Commercial Terms state that Anthropic may not train its models on customer content from its services, which includes what we send through its API (anthropic.com/legal/commercial-terms). We limit how many Insights can be generated (per race per month, during the free trial, and per month for subscribers) to keep the service sustainable; see our Terms. Insights are generated by software and can be wrong; see our Terms.
Who can see your data
Other users cannot see your data. The founder, who runs the app, can access user data in the database where this is needed to provide support, fix problems or keep the service secure. We access it only for those purposes. Our service providers process data on our behalf: our app hosting platform (Bubble), our AI provider (Anthropic) for Insights, our website host (Framer) for the waitlist, Resend (to send emails), and, once paid plans begin, Stripe for payments. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Beta testers
If you are using Chaskiwasi during the beta, the same rules apply. Your feedback is welcome and is covered by the beta terms in our Terms of Service.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information and race data while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account and the data you entered, except where we must keep something for legal or security reasons. We do this within 30 days of your request. Waitlist emails are kept until you ask to be removed or the launch emails are done.
Your choices
You can view and edit your information in the app, and ask us to delete your whole account by email, which works even if your account is view-only. You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it, by emailing chaski@chaskiwasi.com. These requests work even if your account is view-only or locked because your free trial is used up or your subscription has ended. You can ask to be removed from the waitlist at any time. Depending on where you live in the United States (for example California or Texas), you may have additional rights to access and delete your information; we will honour those requests.
Security
We use a reputable hosting platform and standard protections, including encrypted connections and hashed passwords. No online service is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Children
Chaskiwasi is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way we will update the date above and tell active users in the app or by email.
